Skyhook’s Wi-Fi Positioning System (WPS) is now location-enabling Trapster and Locr - just two examples of what developers can do with a quick integration of the Skyhook SDK.

Trapster is a speed trap sharing system for mobile phones. Users contribute the locations of known speed traps and, using a combination of GPS and Wi-Fi Positioning, drivers alerted when they approach a trap. Trapster’s story has been picked up by Fox Business News, USA Today, the Associated Press.

Locr is using now using WPS along with GPS for photo geo-tagging. After the Skyhook SDK integration, Locr got coverage from GigaOM, Mass High Tech, and other leading industry outlets.
