Job Description
Candidates should have experience with embedded devices and development methodology. The ideal candidate is independent, resourceful, and capable of "hacking" a device without help from the manufacturer. In addition, candidates should be able to effectively balance multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace. Great communication, flexibility and interpersonal skills are a must.

System Engineer / R&D Engineer
Job Description
Candidate in this position will work on different Skyhook positioning technologies to enhance and also to farther optimize them. Candidate will help the company to explore new approaches and new positioning technologies.
Another aspect of the work involves statistical analysis of anonymous usage-data of millions of devices using Skyhook solution, worldwide. The statistical analysis is not only to improve Skyhook core positioning technologies, but also to conduct temporal and spatial analysis of behavior of users of the system.
Candidate is also going to help to improve Skyhook patent portfolio.
Requirements:
- Master in Science, PhD is preferred.
- Strong math background, specifically probability and statistics
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming language, i.e. C/C++, JAVA, or Matlab
- Strong writing skills
Preferred:
- EE and CS fields
- Couple of years industry experience
- Experience with GPS
- Experience with inertial systems
- Experience with handling large data, and statistical data analysis
- Experience with radio propagation

As a Skyhook driver, you will be using a scanning device to gather wireless information in specific territories assigned to you by Skyhook. These contract positions typically last 2-4 weeks. There are no stops required, just driving and letting the device scan. All drivers must have a valid license, insurance, and a car in good working order. So get your maps, your shades, some snacks, and your tunes ready for a driving experience you are not likely to forget.
