The Internet of Things continues to grow as sensors get smaller, savings get bigger and developers wrap their arms around the massive opportunities provided by a growing list of IoT vendors. Connected things continue to take leaps into the mainstream with devices like Amazon's Alexa and Whirpool's Smart appliances. This increasing number of smart "things" are integrating into peoples’ lives at a faster clip than anyone could imagine. The consumer space is seeing rapid growth alongside healthcare, transportation, education, manufacturing and shipping industries - just to name a few.

2. Mobile World Congress


Date: February 27 - March 2, 2017

Location: Barcelona, Spain

Speakers: AT&T Entertainment Group, Netflix, Niantic, NEC Corporation, Turner

Why attend: Mobile World Congress is the world's largest mobile industry event. It's organized by the GSMA (Groupe Speciale Mobile) and held in the mobile world capital - Barcelona. Multiple sessions from business leaders across mobile and IoT will discuss topics like how the increase in productivity translates to dollars in revenue gained from connected systems, and include tours on "How to Keep the Internet of Things Ecosystem Connected and Safe" that features vendors focused on safety at every step of the process.

3. LiveWorx 2017

Location: Boston, MA

Why Attend: This star-studded (Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jamie Hyneman from Mythbusters were speakers last year) IoT event is held the heart of Boston, voted 2016's most innovative city. Over 200 industry and role-specific breakouts are offered in a variety of learning styles, including cutting-edge use cases, interactive Q&A's, live demos, fireside chats, deep-dive technical lectures, small working groups, tech-powered panels and more! Last year, over 8,500 people attended this event whether they streamed content online or showed up at the Boston Convention Center. 4. Internet of Things World


Date: May 16 - 18, 2017

Location: Santa Clara Convention Center, CA

Speakers From: Uber, Lyft, Zipcar, Under Armour, Mircrosoft, Hitachi

Why Attend: With over 11,000 attendees anticipated and the largest span of vertical and horizontal themes covered, Internet of Things world may be the largest IoT specific event on this list. 5. GeoIoT World

Date: June 6 - 9, 2017

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Why attend:  The GeoIoT Summit is a 2 day conference that gathers 70+ innovators across the Internet of Thingsm geolocation and data analytics. Experts will share theur expertise in leveraging the newest wave of location and tracking opportunities for IoT. A broad range of location technology beyond GPS will be addressed including BLE Beacons and indoor RTLS, LPWA & IoT networks, high precision GNSS, Big GeoData, etc. Why attend? The potential in this sector of IoT is massive: by 2020, approximatly 5 billion connected devices will be critically dependant on location data, and 10 billion devices will include some form of geodata according to Machina Research. 6. Global IoT Summit 2017


Date: June 6 - 9, 2017

Location: Geneva, Switzerland

Why attend:  This event, co-located in Geneva with IoT Week 2017, is bringing together cutting edge research results, the IoT innovation community and the UN system with a unique worldwide outreach. A highly technical conference with academics, researchers and businesses alike, that will congregate to discuss what's next and what needs work in the industry now. This is the event's first year, as it's been recognized that academics and researchers have yet to organize around this topic on a global scale. “IoT is rapidly evolving with the substantial risks.. Research has a fundamental role to enable a globally interoperable IoT and to make it right," said Sebastien Ziegler, General Chair and President of the IoT Forum.

7. Sensors Expo & Conference

8. Bosch ConnectedWorld 2017- Chicago


Date: October 11-12, 2017

Location: Chicago, IL

Why attend: At Bosch ConnectedWorld, participants will explore real-world IoT implementations presented by well-respected industry leaders and global IoT players. 9. IoT Tech Expo North America
